Menagerie Parties & Cakes came about through one of life’s little curve balls. Owner and Head Curator, Tanya Kaynes brings 25 years of event experience through her previous career at the Calgary Zoo.

Tanya’s abilities as a baker have been acknowledged by the Food Network on The Big Bake, episode "Best In Snow" and with multiple auditions for the Great Canadian Baking Show making it to the second last rounds. She is also a regular contributor to Calgary's Child Magazine. But one of the big highlights was creating the gingerbread houses and desserts for Jann Arden's Holiday special - "Jann- Alone for the Holidays" in 2022.

Her passion for animal conservation and welfare is why she sought a job at the Calgary Zoo and that passion continues with her own venture. This is why Tanya has chosen Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS)  as her chosen charity to donate a portion of profits to. She designed Menagerie Halloween as an annual fundraiser specifically for AARCS. We LOVE Halloween at Menagerie!
